Here is a brief summary explaining the different practices I can offer:

  • Coaching is a form of intervention delivered in a Question & Answer format, aimed at supporting people in achieving their future goals. Coaching is a learning journey you go through and your coach is your travel companion leading the torch ahead of you. A coach is your facilitator: I help you to find the answers to your own questions from inside you, while you set your agenda. You remain in charge of the direction you take, to achieve the results that you want.
  • Mentoring is a practice where expertise in a specific subject matter is passed on to you, to strengthen your learning and self-development that is useful to achieve your goals. Contrary to coaching, a mentor does provide advice in relation to the specific challenges you bring to the table.
  • Consulting is a service where specialist knowledge is used by an expert to make recommendations or also deliver specific solutions to the problems you have. In my case, this relates to business direction and marketing communications.

This varies according to the personality and the pace of each person. Usually:

  • 2 sessions will give you a head start
  • 3 to 4 sessions will put you steadily in the right track towards your desired goal.
  • 5 to 6 sessions will get you to a place where you are seeing big change results.
  • 7+ sessions is best for people who are making a major career and life transformation.

Most clients will pre-agree a no. of sessions and come back for a further number of check-in sessions as they continue to achieve their goals and complete their actions. Some decide to come back after they have realised their goals have changed.

The results of the coaching vary significantly depending on how much time you have in between sessions to complete the actions you decided to take, how committed you are to change quickly and other unpredictable factors which may be barriers for you.

Previous clients on a Job Search Optimisation coaching plan had their job application tools sorted within a 3-week period. Other clients on a Business & Marketing Planning package achieved substantial results within 2 months from the last session: e.g. they acquired new clients following my recommendations.

While you should always check the actual qualifications and real-life professional experience of your potential Coach, it’s also important to get a good vibe from them.
 
So, I would encourage you to have some face-to-face time first with any Coach you are considering.

At the beginning of our engagement we will firm up your desired outcomes and how we will structure our journey towards that end goal.

My clients report back in each session how many actions they’ve taken from the previous meeting, how much they’re applying their new learning and how much time they can invest until the following session.

Each session is a review in itself, which allows us to tweak your coaching journey as we go, so you always know where you stand.

I also use a feedback form at the very end, to monitor the success of each case.
